Pop superstar Katy Perry has revealed that her relationship with Canadian politician Justin Trudeau has had a profound impact on her life, calling it a “transformative” experience during a recent podcast appearance.

'Love has transformed me,' says Katy Perry
Perry, 44, explained that she once saw phrases like “all you need is love” as clichés, but now understands their deeper meaning.
“I have love in my life now. That’s transformed me,” she said during the interview.
She added that love is something people may not fully understand until they experience it themselves, comparing the feeling to life-changing emotional milestones.
Relationship after split from Orlando bloom
Perry’s relationship with Justin Trudeau reportedly began in 2025, following her high-profile split from actor Orlando Bloom.
The singer said the breakup had a strong emotional impact on her, describing the period as “pretty tough.”
She explained that while she does not usually identify with feelings of victimhood, she experienced significant emotional struggle last year.
Processing pain and moving forward
Perry also spoke about how she dealt with the breakup, saying she consciously chose to face her emotions rather than suppress them.
“It would have been easy for me to fall into that weird victim triangle,” she said.
Instead, she focused on accepting her feelings and learning from the experience, describing it as a process of emotional growth and self-reflection.
According to Perry, the experience ultimately helped her move forward and gain clarity in her personal life.
She emphasized the importance of processing pain and using it as a way to grow rather than retreating into negativity.
