The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has issued its annual performance report.
According to the report, financial crimes committed through cyber crime fell by 36 per cent during the year. The NCCIA examined 2,196 cases involving cyber crime, online fraud, data theft and other serious offences. It reported a 36 per cent reduction in financial crimes linked to cyber activity. Officials said that 461 million was recovered from suspects involved in cyber fraud and financial scams.
During 2025, a total of 46,056 bank accounts and digital wallets were frozen. An operation titled Operation Brown was launched against online child exploitation, under which 35 cases were registered and suspects were arrested.
More than 300 officers from law enforcement agencies received training in cyber investigation techniques. Public awareness campaigns on online and financial fraud reached two million people.
The report stated that cooperation with Interpol was strengthened during the year. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency also hosted a regional cyber crime investigators’ forum. Agency data showed improved coordination with five neighbouring countries during the same period.
