Police have intensified efforts in the murder case of Javed Butt, the brother-in-law of Teefi Butt, by raiding the house of the main accused Ameer Fateh following the rejection of his interim bail.
According to sources, a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) raided Ameer Fateh’s house in the Rang Mahal area after he was released on bail earlier. The raid revealed that the accused had locked the house and fled along with his family.
Sources said Ameer Fateh was hiding from home, prompting the JIT to expand the search.
Employees taken into custody
During the raid, the JIT took three employees of Ameer Fateh into custody. The employees are being questioned to gather information about the whereabouts of the main accused.
Investigators believe the questioning could help trace Ameer Fateh, who has been declared a co-accused by the JIT during the course of its investigation.
Sessions court rejects interim bail
Earlier in the day, the Lahore Sessions Court rejected Ameer Fateh’s interim bail application. Saifullah Hanjra, Additional Sessions Judge, announced the decision.
The court gave its ruling in light of the police report, which had been submitted during the previous hearing.
Javed Butt was shot dead by unidentified motorcyclists on The Mall road last year, sparking a high-profile investigation. The case was registered at Ichhra Police Station.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to arrest all those involved in the murder.
