The base price for the two new Pakistan Super League (PSL) teams has been set at around Rs100 crore, sources said on Thursday.
Sources said the base price of the two new PSL teams will be approximately Rs100 crore. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also finalised 10 bidders who will participate in the auction process for the new franchises.
According to sources, the auction of the two new PSL teams will be held in Islamabad on January 8. The event is expected to draw significant attention as the league expands with the addition of two more franchises.
Sources further revealed that renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will perform at the auction ceremony of the new PSL teams, adding a cultural highlight to the high-profile event.
PCB highlights infrastructure development
Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board expressed satisfaction over the strengthening of cricket infrastructure in 2025 in preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy. The mega tournament will mark Pakistan’s first ICC major event in 29 years.
In a press release, the PCB said that stadium upgrade projects carried out in 2025 have reshaped Pakistan’s cricket infrastructure. Under the vision of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, major stadiums were comprehensively renovated to meet international standards.
The PCB highlighted that Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore was rebuilt in record time, with the project completed ahead of the Champions Trophy. The upgraded stadium now features modern dressing rooms, new enclosures, improved entryways, and advanced LED floodlights.
