Intermittent rainfall continued across Islamabad and several parts of Punjab, leading to a noticeable increase in cold weather.
According to the Meteorological Department, the highest rainfall recorded so far is 21 millimetres in Saidpur. Shamsabad received 19 millimetres, Sector H-8/2 recorded 18 millimetres, New Katarian 17 millimetres, and Gawalmandi 15 millimetres.

In Azad Kashmir, rain and snowfall have entered their third consecutive day. Snowfall continues in Neelum Valley, Leepa Valley and other upper areas, while Muzaffarabad has experienced intermittent rain since last night. Several link roads in upper areas have begun to close due to snowfall, with many roads in Neelum and Leepa valleys already blocked. Intermittent rain and snowfall are expected to continue throughout the day.
In Abbottabad, snowfall continues in the Galiyat on the first day of the new year. Power supply on the Abbottabad–Murree Road has remained suspended since last night due to slippery conditions. More than five inches of snow has been recorded in Shogran, a tourist destination in Mansehra district, while Kaghan has received over two inches of snowfall.
A spokesperson for the Khyber Development Authority advised tourists visiting snowfall areas to adopt precautionary measures and ensure the use of iron chains on vehicle tyres. Rain and snowfall have further intensified the cold across the region.
