England have unveiled their provisional squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, while also naming the teams that will tour Sri Lanka next month for a white-ball series featuring three ODIs and three T20Is.
White-ball captain Harry Brook will lead England at the T20 World Cup and during the Sri Lanka tour. The provisional 15-member squad includes:
Harry Brook (C), Rehan Ahmed, Jofra Archer, Tom Banton, Jacob Bethell, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Jamie Overton, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Josh Tongue, Luke Wood
Several senior players, including Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Adil Rashid and Phil Salt, retained their places after featuring in the 2024 edition, where England were knocked out by India in the semi-final.

England selectors have backed Jofra Archer despite the right-arm quick recently suffering a left side strain during the Ashes. Fast bowler Josh Tongue has been rewarded with his maiden T20I call-up, marking a significant milestone in his international career.
Part of World Cup preparation
The Sri Lanka tour will play a key role in England’s preparations, with Brydon Carse included in the touring squads as the team assesses its pace options in subcontinent conditions.
Will Jacks returns to both ODI and T20I squads after missing the New Zealand white-ball tour in October, while Zak Crawley makes his ODI comeback for the first time since December 2023, aiming to add to his eight caps.
Former captain Joe Root has been named in the ODI squad, providing experience and stability to England’s middle order for the three-match series.
