In a successful counter-terrorism operation in Lakki Marwat, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) killed a key militant commander.
According to a CTD spokesperson, the slain commander, Barkat, was the leader and aide of several terrorist groups. He was wanted in multiple cases, including attacks on security forces.
The operation was carried out in the outskirts of Wanda Amir Khan area of Lakki Marwat district. Police said volunteers from local peace committees participated alongside law enforcement personnel during the action.
Police termed the operation intelligence-based and said it dealt a significant blow to militant networks active in the area.
Authorities confirmed the operation targeted the militant due to his involvement in numerous criminal and terror-related activities.
