The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert regarding the possibility of smog in various parts of the country.
According to details surfaced on Wednesday, rising smog may affect traffic flow in the several cities. A significant increase in smog is expected in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sialkot, Gujranwala and Sheikhupura.
In Rawalpindi and Islamabad, as well as in several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), fog is expected to intensify. In the upper regions of Sindh, fog may also increase sharply. Until December 20, visibility will remain low during the night and early morning hours. Reduced visibility increases the risk of traffic accidents, and the public is advised to exercise caution.
The NDMA has urged drivers to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of dense fog. It has advised adopting precautionary measures to prevent traffic accidents. Relevant authorities have been instructed to take special steps to mitigate the effects of fog.
