The government has taken a major step for Pakistanis going abroad for employment by ending cash collection of fees or charges for any purpose, including the protectors.
According to details surfaced on Saturday, those going abroad for employment will now make payments only through banks or online channels. The Bureau of Immigration has issued a circular to the relevant ministries and departments.
The overseas employment promoters will also not be allowed to collect cash from candidates. Only banks or approved digital channels will be used for payments, the circular stated.
In case of violations, the licenses of the Overseas Employment Promoters may be cancelled, the circular added.
The new regulatory measures aim to ensure transparency and the protection of overseas workers, the order said.
