A police assistant sub-inspector, Ali Akbar, lost his life after an unidentified man attacked him near the Sabzi Mandi area in Islamabad.
Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi ordered the immediate arrest of those responsible. According to police officials, Akbar walked through the area when an unknown assailant suddenly struck him with a knife.
He suffered severe wounds and officers moved him to a hospital without delay. Doctors later confirmed his death after he succumbed to the injuries. Police said that the martyred officer, Akbar Khan, served on duty at the Supreme Court.
Naqvi, took prompt notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the Inspector General of Islamabad Police. He expressed deep sympathy and condolences to the family of the martyred ASI, and he assured them that the culprits would face the full force of the law as soon as they were apprehended.
Naqvi said that he stood with the bereaved family in their grief and pledged that complete justice would follow.
