Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hosted a luncheon in Islamabad in honour of the cricket teams participating in the Tri-Nation Series - Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe.
Players and officials from all three teams attended the event.
The PM praised the dedication and commitment displayed by the teams throughout the series, calling their efforts commendable. He said that all players were proudly representing their respective nations and showcasing their best performance.
PM Shehbaz emphasized that athletes should set an example of true sportsmanship that can inspire the younger generation. He noted that under the leadership of the PCB Chairman, the board had ensured excellent arrangements for all matches.
He added that the continuation of international cricket in Pakistan reflects the country’s positive image, peace, and stability. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the Tri-Nation Series would bring top-quality cricket to fans.
Expressing hope for stronger ties, he said that cricket would further deepen friendship and cooperation among the three countries. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue to host international teams with the same spirit in the future.
