Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday expressed satisfaction over the working standards at the NADRA Center in Fahad Town and the Regional Passport Office in Dera Gujran, Shalamar, during a surprise visit to review citizen services and document processing.
During his visit, Naqvi inspected the process of issuing identity cards, passports, and other official documents. He met citizens present at both centers and directly inquired about the quality of services being provided.
Citizens appreciated the cooperation of the staff, noting that officials were guiding them properly and maintaining a respectful attitude.
The interior minister listened to the concerns of visitors and issued immediate on-the-spot orders to resolve their issues. He instructed the staff to expedite all ongoing processes and ensure that applicants receive their documents without unnecessary delay.
Particularly, Naqvi directed the staff to prioritize the case of an elderly woman in a wheelchair, emphasizing that such applicants should not face any difficulty.
‘Special persons must be treated with protocol’
Highlighting the importance of inclusivity, Mohsin Naqvi instructed that the work of special persons must be handled immediately and with special protocol. “Citizens should not face any difficulty in obtaining their documents,” he remarked, calling for efficiency and empathy in public dealings.
He also directed the concerned officials to ensure that the delivery of documents and passports is completed strictly within the stipulated time frame.
Citizens praise staff behaviour
Several citizens told the minister that the staff’s attitude was courteous and that they were being properly guided throughout the process. Naqvi appreciated the staff’s commitment and advised them to maintain a high standard of service.
The minister emphasized that the timely processing of identity cards and travel documents should remain the top priority of NADRA and Passport Office staff. He reiterated that such inspections would continue to ensure transparency and public convenience.
