The district administration of Nankana Sahib has declared a public holiday on November 5 to mark the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism and one of the most revered spiritual leaders in South Asia.
According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Taslim Akhtar Rao, all government institutions, schools, and colleges across the district will remain closed on the day.
A spokesperson for the Nankana Sahib district administration confirmed the announcement, stating that the public holiday aims to facilitate local and international Sikh pilgrims visiting the city for the celebrations.
The notification specifies that all public offices, government departments, schools, and colleges within the Nankana Sahib district limits will remain closed on November 5, while essential services will continue as usual.
