A major investment from the United Arab Emirates is expected in Pakistan within the next few months.
The announcement came during a ceremony in Karachi marking 40 years of the Emirates’ operations. The event was attended by senior officials of Emirates , representatives from Jinnah International Airport and the UAE Consul General in Karachi, Bakheet Ateeq Alremeithi.
Speaking to the media, Alremeithi said that the UAE would make significant investments in Pakistan across various sectors, with related measures in their final stages. He said that passengers would soon witness clear improvement in travel facilities at Pakistani airports.
He expressed good wishes for Pakistan International Airlines, saying that the national carrier still holds special importance across the world and that he hoped for its full revival.
To mark Emirates Airline’s forty years, a new Premium Economy Class has been introduced for Pakistani passengers.
During the event, Emirates Vice President Muhammad Al-Hashmi said that Karachi was the airline’s first international destination when operations began, with the inaugural flight arriving on 25 October 1985.
Emirates currently operates flights from five cities in Pakistan, which remains one of its most important markets. A documentary on the airline’s journey was also shown during the celebration.
