Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran said on Saturday the situation has been cleared from the ground up in Lahore.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Kamran said that the violent protests by religious group leave police injured, property damaged. He said: "A group began a series of violent protests. The door remained open for talks. The group did not desist and continued protests by their own means."
"Policemen suffered injuries during the protests. A considerable number of policemen remain missing. Police stations and property suffered damage," he said.
"A trend of violence appeared among these groups. They caused harm to the public. They disrupted the lives of ordinary citizens," the DIG operations maintained.
"They [religious group] celebrated by climbing the Orange Line station. They attempted to create disorder in the country. The situation has been cleared from the ground up in Lahore. These groups destroy wherever they go."
"It is unclear what kind of protest this represents. State institutions will continue their work. Talks remain possible at all times. The state is prepared to deal with the groups effectively," he said.
