Former federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has condemned the "egg attack" on Aleema Khan, describing the act of throwing an egg at Aleema Khan as "shameful, vulgar and disgraceful".
Posting on social media, Saad Rafique said the incident was reprehensible in every sense. He linked it to similar displays of aggression, including the throwing of a shoe at Nawaz Sharif and the ink attack on Khawaja Asif, calling them outcomes of a fascist mindset.
He recalled chaos outside the hospital where Kulsoom Nawaz lay on her deathbed, and the attack on Marriyum Aurangzeb at the Prophet’s Mosque, attributing these incidents to the same toxic mentality.
He also condemned the assassination attempt on Ahsan Iqbal, labelling it as an act of religious extremism.
Rafique expressed regret, saying that sowing the seeds of poison cannot yield the fruit of an antidote. He emphasised the need to discourage, denounce and resist such behaviour at every level.
