Rain stopped the Pakistan vs New Zealand match in the ICC Cricket World Cup on Saturday and Duckworth-Lewis (DLS) method was used to set a revised target for Pakistan.
Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson powered New Zealand to an insurmountable 401-6 in the 35th match of the World Cup at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengalaru on Saturday.
Their stellar performances catapulted New Zealand to a commanding total, putting Pakistan in a precarious position in the competition.
Pakistan were 160/1 in 21.3 overs until rain stopped play.
These were scenarios for revised target.
If 10 overs are lost, Pakistan will need to score 175 runs in 18.3 overs to win the match.
If 20 overs are lost, they will need to score 92 runs in 8.3 overs, and if 25 overs are lost, they will need to score 37 runs in 3.3 overs.
However, after calculation for the lost time, Pakistan needed 182 off 117 balls as the revised target was set as 342 in 41 overs.
The Green Shirts made an impressive comeback and until the rain stopped play again, they were 21 runs ahead as per DLS method and put 200/1 in 25.3 overs.
The match will be abandoned and Pakistan will be declared winner if rain doesn't stop until 7:10 pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
