For the first time since 2016, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has revised parking charges at major airports across the country.
The new fee structure has already come into effect at Islamabad International Airport, while other Category “A” airports will follow under new contracts.
Annual increment in parking fees
According to the new policy, the parking fee for cars will increase by Rs10 every year. The revised rates will apply to new parking contracts awarded through tenders at Category “A” airports, including Karachi, Islamabad, and Multan.
The PAA clarified that the changes at Lahore Airport will only take effect once the current parking contract ends.
Parking charges at Islamabad airport
At Islamabad International Airport, parking fees have already gone up:
-
The initial three-hour parking fee has risen from Rs90 to Rs120.
-
After three hours, hourly charges have increased from Rs50 to Rs70.
Why revision made
Officials noted that this is the first revision in eight years, aimed at adjusting rates in line with inflation and ensuring better management of airport parking facilities. The PAA said the step will also help streamline revenue collection and improve services for passengers.
