Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has approved the Sindh Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill 2025 under Article 116 of the Constitution, making it effective immediately.
The bill introduces stricter conditions for issuing driving licenses and prescribes tougher penalties for violating traffic laws.
According to the text of the bill, the legislation has been enacted to ensure citizens’ safety, and any violations of the Motor Vehicles Act will invite strict legal action.
Under the new law, additional requirements have been imposed for the issuance of heavy vehicle licenses.
Pre-license training courses have been made mandatory for both Light Transport Vehicle (LTV) and Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) licenses.
