Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan on Sunday emphasised the need for national unity to confront terrorism allegedly sponsored by India, urging collective resolve to eliminate the menace.
According to details, the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) president visited Khanewal to offer condolences to the family of Shaheed Ghulam Saeed, who was martyred in a terrorist incident in Balochistan.
During the visit, Abdul Aleem Khan offered Fateha for the eternal peace of the martyr and met with his grieving family. He said: "Ghulam Saeed had six children and that his father had also passed away due to the shock of his son's martyrdom."
The federal minister stated that the martyr had no property in Balochistan and had paid the ultimate price in the fight against terrorism.
Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Khan accused India of instigating terrorism in Pakistan, saying the objective was to sow hatred and division. “Terrorism has affected not only Punjab but the entire country,” he said.
He stressed that, like in Balochistan and Sindh, impoverished communities also live in Punjab, including many from other provinces, particularly in parts of Lahore.
Abdul Aleem Khan reaffirmed his support for the families of all those martyred in the war against terrorism, stating that prayers and solidarity are with them.
He pledged to strengthen the hands of the Pakistan Army and affirmed that, in collaboration with the Army Chief, the nation would eliminate terrorism. “Just as India was defeated on the battlefield, it will be defeated in the fight against terrorism as well,” he added.
On the occasion, Khan was accompanied by IPP Punjab President Rana Nazir Ahmed, IPP General Secretary, and Member of the Punjab Assembly, Shoaib Siddiqui.
Condolences to the families of martyred brothers
On the other side, Aleem Khan visited Duniyapur to offer condolences to the families of two brothers, Usman and Jabbar Hussain, who were martyred in the Loralai tragedy. He expressed deep sorrow and grief to both families.
Speaking to media on the occasion, Aleem Khan said: "India is spreading terrorism in Pakistan, but, Insha Allah, the scourge of terrorism will soon be eradicated."
He added: "The two young brothers were on their way to attend their father’s funeral when they became targets of brutal terrorism. Neither was married and both were cruelly martyred."
Aleem Khan paid tribute to the courage of the mother of the martyrs, who sacrificed her sons for the country.
The IPP president emphasised that national unity is indispensable in the fight against terrorism.
