Tremors from a moderate earthquake were felt in Zhob and surrounding areas of Balochistan on Monday, sending waves of panic among residents.
According to the National Seismological Centre, the earthquake measured 4.8 on the Richter scale, with its epicentre located 40 kilometres southwest of Zhob. The depth of the quake was recorded at 20km beneath the Earth's surface.
While no immediate casualties or damage were reported in Zhob, the seismic activity comes just a day after a more powerful 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck the Musakhel and Barkhan districts, leaving behind a trail of devastation.
Musakhel quake: Five lives lost
The earlier quake in Musakhel and Barkhan claimed five lives and caused hundreds of homes to collapse, leaving many families homeless. In response, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan launched relief efforts to support affected communities.
