Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sheikh Waqas Akram asserted on Wednesday that a majority of farmers "endorse" the party founder, Imran Khan's vision.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Akram said, “We will raise the issue of the injustices faced by farmers. They [government] claim that 37 per cent of the labour force comprises farmers – then what have you provided for them?”
He questioned, “Have the prices of fertilisers and seeds been reduced? Has the subsidy on tractors been reinstated?”
“Tax has been imposed on solar energy, despite the fact that many farmers had transitioned to solar power,” he added.
