A wildfire in the Bata Pahari forest in Malakand district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has engulfed approximately 6 kilometres of land on Saturday.
According to details, the fire, which began two days ago, has intensified and spread uncontrollably, turning large areas of forest into ashes.
As the flames grew higher, the security forces’ FC post in the area was evacuated for safety reasons. Teams from the FC, Levies and Rescue services have arrived on site to tackle the blaze.
Strong winds in the mountainous region are making it extremely difficult to contain the fire.
Over the past two months, there have been around two dozen fire incidents in the mountain range, but the district administration and forestry department have so far failed to control the outbreaks effectively.
