Former federal minister Faisal Vawda has lauded Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir for what he described as a bold and unmatched response to Indian propaganda amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and India.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Vawda said, “The Army Chief did what no one in the whole of Pakistan could ever do.” He claimed that General Munir not only initiated the blocking of Indian websites, but also took significant steps to counter Indian disinformation both locally and internationally.
“The Army Chief not only blocked Indian websites in the first phase but also ensured that Indian media channels and websites were removed from international platforms,” Vawda said.
He further asserted that India had long targeted Pakistan’s media space, but this time, the narrative was reversed. “India did this to our media for years, but now they’ve been given a befitting reply, including with interest,” he added.
Vawda commended the unity and responsibility shown by the Pakistani media, including anchors and reporters, during this period. He stated that the army chief recognized the commitment of those channels and journalists who stood firm in defending Pakistan’s national narrative.
"Pakistan will answer India with a stone at every opportunity and will receive interest on every front," Vawda concluded, emphasizing that Pakistan's response to Indian provocations will remain firm and strategic.
