The shocking confessions from Afghan protesters involved in recent unrest in Islamabad have come to light.
These individuals, masquerading as peaceful demonstrators, are reported to have crossed all lines in their actions against the state, prompting authorities to arrest several of the rioters.
The detained individuals claimed their grievances stem from a lack of accountability among those in power, stating, "The person responsible for our situation is sitting in an air-conditioned room, and no one is here to listen to us. We will not be misled again." They expressed frustration at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), asserting that the party has devastated their youth and livelihoods.
Despite PTI's third consecutive government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, protesters lamented the dire state of hospitals and infrastructure, declaring, "Everything is in ruins. All we hear is calls to march on Islamabad or Lahore and demands to release Khan, but no real development is taking place."
Criticism was also directed at former Prime Minister Imran Khan, with statements highlighting his failure to deliver on promises made during his tenure. "He should feel ashamed of his speeches," one protester remarked. "Not a single commitment has been fulfilled. We have no ties with PTI and will always remember the positive conduct of the police and armed forces."
Authorities have vowed to take strict legal action against those involved in the unrest, emphasising that any form of violence disguised as protest will not be tolerated.
