The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday decided not to allow the employees infected with the pink eye disease (conjunctivitis) to enter the office.
As the threat of the pink eye disease (conjunctivitis) looms across the country, the electoral watchdog had issued a circular in this regard. ‘’The employees infected with conjunctivitis should not arrive in the office unless they fully recover from the infection,’’ stated the ECP.
The electoral watchdog maintained, ‘’The infected employee will have to submit the health certificate after recovering from the eye disease. No recovered person will be allowed to enter the ECP office without the health certificate’’

The National Institute of Health (NIH) identified on Tuesday the virus that causes pink eye disease across the country.

Expressing his thoughts in Islamabad, Interim Health Minister Nadeem Jan said: ‘’The recent pink eye outbreak was caused by Coxsackievirus A24 in Pakistan. This virus has caused an outbreak of mild levels in different parts of the world.’’
He urged the masses to not worry about the pink eye outbreak, adding that there was a dire need to take precautionary measures to avert the infection.
Mr Jan said, ‘’The public should follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the federal and provincial governments to avoid catching the pink eye infection.’’
‘’The government is taking all-out steps to ensure the masses remain protected from the outbreak,’’ Mr Jan added.
