Google introduced the Pixel 9 series on Aug 13, 2024. Pixel event unpacked the pixel 9 family which includes pixel 9, 9pro, 9pro XL and 9pro Fold.
Fans were waiting for Google to make an official announcement as the leeks and rumors have been coming for months. And man we did not expected this. Pre orders are now live and devices will hit the shelves on August 22, 2024.
Google Pixel 9
Pixel 9 is the base variant in the family, launching from $799. Pixel 9 packs good hardware along with brilliant AI, including 50 MP main camera and 48 MP ultrawide Lens, capable of recording 4k video at 24, 30 and 60 fps.
Selfie camera is 10.5 MP with the same video recording. Phone includes 4700mah battery with fast charging of 27w (Wired). Display size of base variant is 6.3 inches with 86.1% screen-to-body ratio.
Google Pixel 9 Pro
Pixel 9 offer top of the line features while being compact in size. 9pro will be launching at $999. Min Lense will be of 50 MP, ultrawide Lense will be 48 MP. Pro series will also have a telephoto Lens of 48 MP. Pixel 9pro is capable of recording 8k video at 30fps. Users can also record 4K at 24,30 and 60 fps. 42MP selfie camera is also included.
With an 87.6% screen-to-body aspect ratio pixel 9 pro is of 6.3 inches, making it a sweet spot for those who want flagship-level features with a relatively smaller size. 4700mah cell is added in 9pro paired with 27w fast charging (wired).
Google Pixel 9 Pro XL
Starting at $1,099, 9pro XL is the big dawg among the series with bigger battery, bigger screen size, brighter display but also heavier on wallet. XL’s screen size is 6.8 inches with 88% screen-to-body ratio. Both pixel 9 and 9pro XL share the same bake and front camera lenses with the same video recording. 5060mah cell is a plus point of being XL paired with 37w fast charging (wired).
Pixel 9 is launched with Android 9 and Google also promised 7 years of major software updates with Pixel 9 series.
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold
Google also announced their first fold device which is starting at $1,799. With a completely new design pixel fold includes a 48mp main camera, with 10mp ultrawide and 10mp telephoto Lens, capable of recording 4k videos at 30 and 60 fps. The Selfie camera is 10mp as well. Pixel fold will be 8.0 inches with 89% screen-to-body ratio. With 4650mah which is capable of 21w charging pixel fold is one the if not the slimmest foldable in the market.
Pixel 9 jampacked with AI
Gemini AI can now interact with you through text, video and voice making it more efficient and helpful. Magic Editor can also now reimagine your photos with text prompt based on AI generated photos. Users can change backgrounds or enhance pictures with this feature. Rather the asking a stranger to click your group picture, Add Me feature allows you to add the photographer in a group picture.
User can take a picture which will create a visual space and anyone can swap with the cameraman and the final result will be a combined picture of a group. Pixel Studio uses on-device AI to generate images based on text prompts. This tool is great for creative projects and allows for easy sharing of your creation. AI features like pixel screenshots app, custom weather report, call notes and auto frame are also introduced.
