The fruits of effective actions against electricity thieves across the country on the government's initiative have begun to emerge.
According to the data from November 19 to 26, Rs3.85 billion have been recovered from across the country and 325 people arrested. Out of these, 198 people have been arrested from Punjab and Rs1.86 billion recovered.
Moreover, 24 people have been arrested from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Rs0.81 billion recovered from them for stealing electricity.
In the crackdown on electricity theft, 103 people have been arrested from Sindh and Rs1 billion have been recovered.
From September to October 2023, losses due to electricity theft decreased by Rs12 billion. From September 1 to November 26, 29,299 people have been arrested from across the country, while Rs46.71 billion have been recovered.
The institutions concerned are determined to continue the crackdown on electricity theft.
