Google has introduced a new Olive color option for its Pixel Buds Pro 2 wireless earbuds, alongside several software updates designed to improve noise cancellation, translation and sleep-related features.
The new Olive variant is available to order through the Google Store and is priced at $189, compared with its regular price of $229. The promotional price is available until August 23.
While the hardware remains unchanged, Google has added several new software capabilities to the earbuds.
Dynamic ANC adjusts noise cancellation
One of the key updates is Dynamic ANC, which automatically adjusts noise cancellation when the seal between the earbuds and the user's ears changes.
The feature is designed to maintain consistent noise reduction even when the earbuds shift slightly during use.
Live Translate expands to more than 70 languages
Google has also expanded the Live Translate feature on the Pixel Buds Pro 2.
Users can now tap the earbuds to activate listening mode and translate conversations in real time across more than 70 languages, without needing to operate their phone.
The feature also allows users to speak in their own language while their connected Pixel phone plays the translated version for the other person.
Gemini controls and sleep detection added
The Pixel Buds Pro 2 can also be controlled through Gemini voice commands. Users can ask the AI assistant to change settings, including adjusting the bass level.
Another new feature is Pixel Watch sleep sync.
When a connected Pixel Watch detects that the user has fallen asleep, the earbuds can automatically pause music, disable touch controls and silence notifications.
Google expands Pixel ecosystem
The latest Pixel Buds Pro 2 updates come as Google continues expanding its connected Pixel ecosystem with new devices and software features.
The company has recently introduced the Pixel 11 series, Pixel Watch 5 and Pixel Tag, giving users more ways to connect and control devices across its hardware lineup.
