Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed on Friday deep concern over the recent rise in regional tensions.
PM Shehbaz held a telephone conversation with the President of Iran, Dr Masoud Pezeshkian. The prime mnister called on Iran and all other concerned parties to exercise restraint and avoid any action that could harm the peace achieved in recent months. He stressed the urgent need to restore peace and stability across the region.

He also stressed the importance of honouring the commitments made under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). He said the agreement provides a lasting foundation for mutual understanding, respect and shared prosperity.

The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan's firm commitment to regional peace. He said Pakistan would continue to support dialogue and every effort aimed at maintaining peace and stability.
Pezeshkian thanks Pakistan for attending funeral prayers
President Pezeshkian thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and other senior Pakistani leaders for attending the funeral of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Pezeshkian reiterates Iran's commitment to peace
The Iranian president also reaffirmed Iran's commitment to regional peace. He appreciated Pakistan's support and its constructive role in promoting stability.
The two leaders reviewed progress on the decisions taken during President Pezeshkian's visit to Islamabad last month. They agreed to speed up implementation in order to strengthen bilateral cooperation in different fields.
PM Shehbaz extends best wishes to Mojtaba Khamenei
PM Shehbaz conveyed his respectful regards and best wishes to His Eminence Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on matters of mutual interest and regional peace.
The leaders have also agreed to continue diplomatic engagement and support efforts to maintain peace in the region.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Qatar's emir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hammad Al Thani.
The prime minister expressed deep concern over the recent rise in tensions across the region. He reaffirmed Pakistan's full solidarity with the people of Qatar following the recent attacks.
He said all parties should exercise restraint and avoid any action that could undermine regional peace and stability.
The prime minister thanked the Qatar's emir for the country's consistent and steadfast support for peace efforts. He said Pakistan valued Qatar's continued backing of diplomatic initiatives, including the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and the first round of high-level technical talks at Burgenstock.
The Qatar's emir praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their leading role in efforts to promote peace in the region. He also assured the prime minister of Qatar's continued support.
The two leaders agreed to maintain diplomatic engagement and meaningful dialogue. They also agreed that all parties should honour the commitments made under the peace memorandum to support lasting peace and stability.
