The Russia's Ministry of Defence said its air defence systems destroyed 376 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over several regions and the Sea of Azov during the night.
The attacks led to fires at an oil refinery in the Krasnodar region, two oil facilities in Azov and the port of Taganrog. Authorities also started evacuating residents from affected areas as a precaution.
According to the ministry, the drones were shot down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Leningrad, Novgorod, Pskov, Rostov, Smolensk, Tver, Moscow and Krasnodar regions, as well as over Crimea and the Sea of Azov.
Russian authorities said a fire broke out at the Ilsky oil refinery in the Seversky district of the Krasnodar region after drone debris fell at the site. The regional operational headquarters said no casualties were reported.
Drone debris falls into courtyard of private house
Officials said drone debris also fell into the courtyard of a private house in the village of Severskaya and within the grounds of an industrial facility. No injuries were reported, while emergency and other relevant services continued rescue and response operations at several locations.
Rostov region Governor Yuri Slyusar said two oil-related facilities in Azov caught fire after the drone attack. He said no deaths or injuries had been reported, and fire and emergency services were working to bring the blaze under control.
He also said a drone attack caused a fire in an administrative building in the village of Kagalnik in the Azovsky district. The fire was later extinguished, and no casualties were reported.
Officials said firefighting operations were also continuing at the port of Taganrog. Initial reports said there were no casualties.
Governor Slyusar said falling drone debris in Taganrog damaged the windows and doors of a private house and caused a fire on the roof of an administrative building. The fire was later put out.
Residents moved to safe locations
Taganrog Mayor Svetlana Kambulova said residents living within the emergency zone were being moved to safe locations as a precaution following the drone attack.
