Pakistan has launched a national platform to help citizens identify and report phishing websites and suspicious links. The initiative aims to protect people from rising online fraud and improve national cyber defence.
National CERT has officially launched the “Fish Radar” platform to combat increasing phishing attacks and online fraud in Pakistan.
The platform has been developed by National CERT in collaboration with a local cybersecurity company.
Citizens can verify suspicious links
According to National CERT, citizens can use Fish Radar to instantly verify any suspicious website or link.
The platform will also allow users to immediately report fake websites, phishing pages and malicious links.
What is phishing?
National CERT said phishing is a form of deception used to steal bank account details, passwords and other sensitive information.
Cybercriminals often use fake websites, suspicious links, SMS messages and emails to trick people into sharing personal or financial data.
The national cybersecurity agency warned that attempts to steal bank accounts, passwords and other sensitive information are continuously increasing. It urged citizens to report any suspicious website or link immediately so timely action can be taken against cybercriminals.
Cybersecurity system to be strengthened
National CERT said Fish Radar will help make national cyber threat intelligence more effective.
The platform is also expected to support timely action against online fraud and strengthen Pakistan’s wider cybersecurity ecosystem.
