Apple has rolled out new voice customisation options for Siri with the latest iOS 27 beta 3, allowing developer testers to adjust how quickly and expressively the AI assistant speaks.
The update is part of Apple's broader effort to make Siri feel more natural and personalised as it continues integrating generative AI into its voice assistant.
In iOS 27 beta 3, Apple has enabled the Pace and Expressivity controls that were previously marked as "Coming soon" in earlier developer betas.
The new settings allow users to fine-tune Siri's speech speed and the amount of human-like emotion in its voice.
More personalised Siri experience
Beyond choosing between different voices and accents, beta users can now customise Siri's delivery using dedicated sliders.
As users adjust the settings, Siri reads sample phrases such as, "You have one new message," allowing them to preview the selected voice style before applying the changes.
Part of Apple's AI push
Apple first introduced the new Siri voice controls during WWDC 2026 as part of its revamped AI-powered assistant.
The upgraded Siri is designed to support more natural interactions and can be activated by voice, the side button, typing through Dynamic Island, or the new standalone Siri app.
Other changes in iOS 27 Beta 3
The latest beta also includes a redesigned Reminders app icon.
Some beta testers have reported that the update temporarily removed access to the new Siri features or caused their devices to re-index data, a process associated with optimising Siri's AI capabilities.
