Samsung's upcoming foldable smartphones—the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra—have reportedly had their South Korean prices leaked ahead of their expected launch later this month.
According to the latest report, rising memory chip costs have prompted Samsung to increase the prices of some of its next-generation foldables compared with last year's models.
Leaked South Korean prices
According to a report by Bloter, Samsung is expected to unveil its new foldable lineup in London on July 22, 2026.
The leaked South Korean prices are:
- Galaxy Z Flip 8: KRW 1,683,000 (around $1,099)
- Galaxy Z Fold 8: KRW 2,278,000 (around $1,499)
- Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: KRW 2,577,000 (around $1,682)
Prices lower than European leak
The reported South Korean prices are noticeably lower than those previously leaked for Europe.
The report suggests these may be carrier-subsidised prices offered to customers who purchase the devices through long-term mobile contracts.
Launch and availability timeline
Samsung is reportedly planning the following release schedule in South Korea:
- Launch event: July 22, 2026
- Pre-orders: July 28 – August 3
- Pre-order deliveries: August 4
- General sale: August 7, 2026
Samsung has not officially confirmed these dates.
Price changes compared with previous models
If the leak proves accurate:
- The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will reportedly cost around KRW 197,700 ($130) more than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 at launch.
- The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to be approximately KRW 101,300 ($70) cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
- The Galaxy Z Flip 8 could launch at around KRW 198,000 ($130) more than the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
The reported price adjustments are believed to be linked to higher memory chip costs.
