Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has said relations with Israel cannot fully return to normal until the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory ends.
Speaking on regional peace efforts, Sisi stressed that resolving the Palestinian issue remains essential for achieving lasting stability in the Middle East.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said Egypt believes relations with Tel Aviv cannot return to normal until the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian state comes to an end.
He said a lasting improvement in regional ties depends on addressing the root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Calls for a just solution
The Egyptian president reiterated his support for a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.
According to Sisi, any settlement must end the Israeli occupation while also bringing an end to oppression and aggression against the Palestinian people.
Comprehensive peace is the only path forward
Sisi said the solution to the Middle East's ongoing conflicts lies in a comprehensive peace agreement between Israel and Palestine.
He added that such an agreement would create the conditions for people across the region to live in peace and security.
The Egyptian president also reaffirmed his support for implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreed for October 2025.
He said sustaining the ceasefire is an important step towards reducing tensions and creating an environment for broader peace efforts.
