Prince William is said to be focusing on his family and royal responsibilities as renewed speculation surrounds Prince Harry's reported visit to the United Kingdom.
According to royal commentator Jennie Bond, the Prince of Wales is trying to avoid being drawn into the public attention surrounding his younger brother's possible return.
Speaking to the Mirror, royal expert Jennie Bond said Prince William has been making a conscious effort to put the ongoing tensions with Prince Harry behind him.
"I think William has worked hard at simply putting Harry out of his mind so that he can focus on his family and his job," Bond said.
However, she noted that widespread media coverage of Harry's reported visit has made it difficult for William to completely ignore the situation.
Family could stay away during school holidays
Bond suggested that the timing of the reported visit coincides with the school holidays, giving William and his family an opportunity to stay away from the spotlight.
"It's the school holidays, so William and the family can presumably take refuge somewhere away from all the hullabaloo," she said.
Despite continued speculation, Bond said she believes it is still too soon to expect a reunion between the brothers.
"I think it's still too early to anticipate any sort of meeting between the brothers," she said.
However, she added that if Prince Harry's reported visit goes ahead and his children meet King Charles, it could potentially mark the beginning of an improvement in family relations.
"If the visit does go ahead and the children meet the King, it could conceivably be the start of a thaw in the ice between William and Harry," Bond said, while adding, "I wouldn't take any bets on it."
Trust remains the biggest obstacle
According to Bond, rebuilding trust remains the biggest challenge in repairing the relationship between the brothers.
She described Prince William as a private individual and a devoted husband who remains deeply affected by previous comments made about Catherine, Princess of Wales.
"Trust is still a major issue for William, who is a very private man," Bond said.
She added that William was angered by what she described as "insults and allegations" directed at Catherine by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
"I'm not sure he will ever find a way to forgive his brother for that," she said.
