President Asif Ali Zardari has congratulated the American leadership and people on the United States’ Independence Day and invited President Donald Trump to visit Pakistan.
In a congratulatory letter to Trump, the president expressed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen relations with the United States.
Zardari said the United States continues to advance values such as freedom, democracy and equal opportunities. He said the achievements of the American people over the past 250 years have made a significant contribution to global development.
Pakistan-US ties based on shared interests
The president said Pakistan-US relations are rooted in mutual respect, shared interests, peace and prosperity.
He also praised the Pakistani community living in the United States, saying overseas Pakistanis have played an important role in further strengthening ties between the two countries.
Cooperation urged in key sectors
President Zardari said Pakistan-US relations are moving in a positive direction. He emphasised the need to continue cooperation in energy, trade, defence and other sectors as the partnership strengthens in a changing global scenario.

The president said the importance of strong Pakistan-US relations was proven in May last year, when President Trump successfully mediated a ceasefire between two nuclear powers. He also appreciated America’s confidence in Pakistan during negotiations with Iran.
Diplomacy only path to lasting peace
President Zardari said sustainable solutions can only be achieved through dialogue and diplomacy.
On behalf of the people of Pakistan, he invited President Donald Trump to visit Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated US President Donald Trump and the American people on the 250th Independence Day of the United States in a post on social media platform X.
He said Pakistan joins the United States in celebrating this historic milestone, describing it as a celebration of the enduring values of freedom, perseverance and democracy.
The prime minister noted that the Pakistan-US partnership spans more than seven decades and said the contributions of the Pakistani-American community have further strengthened the relationship. He added that history has shown the United States has stood by Pakistan whenever global peace was under threat.
