Pakistan and Türkiye have set a joint target to achieve bilateral trade worth $5 billion.
In a joint press briefing, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said both countries remain committed to reaching this trade objective. He expressed gratitude to the President of Türkiye for the warm welcome and hospitality extended during the visit.
The prime minister said relations between the people of Pakistan and Türkiye are founded on a deep emotional bond, noting that Muslims of the subcontinent had supported Türkiye during its War of Independence.

He added that ties between the two countries span a long history of cooperation and solidarity, with both sides standing by each other during various crises.
He said Türkiye had supported Pakistan during wars, earthquakes, natural disasters and floods, adding that Turkish assistance in Muzaffargarh and other flood-affected areas forms part of shared human history.
He also praised Turkish cooperation in social and economic development efforts in earthquake-affected regions.
He stated that Pakistan and Türkiye are “two hearts and one body”, adding that the thoughts of Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi and Allama Muhammad Iqbal continue to inspire bilateral relations.
The prime minister praised the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the comprehensive development achieved in Türkiye across multiple sectors.
He said Pakistan values its friendship with Türkiye, noting that important meetings had been held with Turkish business leaders at a bilateral forum.
He also referred to detailed and constructive discussions with President Erdoğan, reiterating both countries’ commitment to achieving the five-billion-dollar trade target.
He expressed Pakistan’s support for Türkiye’s position on Cyprus and thanked Ankara for its clear stance on the Kashmir issue.
Pakistan secures mediatory role with Erdogan backing: PM Shehbaz
Meanwhile, PM Shehbaz said that Pakistan has secured a mediatory role due to the sincere support of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, underscoring the depth of historic ties between Pakistan and Turkiye.
He said Istanbul is a city that connects Asia and Europe, adding that Turkiye is regarded as a strong and loyal ally of Pakistan. He stated that the relations between the two countries are rooted in a long history of cooperation and mutual support dating back to the Turkish War of Independence.
PM says subcontinent Muslims backed Turkiye’s struggle
The prime minister said Muslims of the subcontinent, under the leadership of Ali Brothers, supported Turkiye’s struggle, while Ankara continued to extend support to Pakistan in difficult times.

PM Shehbaz said Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in the negotiations between the United States and Iran were carried out with sincere intent and resulted in a ceasefire, calling for the opportunity to be used to strengthen peace and regional cooperation.
Pakistan to learn from Turkiye’s industrial transformation: PM
He said that Turkiye had undergone major industrial transformation under President Erdoğan, adding that Islamabad looked forward to learning from Turkiye’s experience in energy, privatisation, transport systems, distribution networks, and renewable energy investment.
The premier said that relations between the two countries were not only political but deeply fraternal, and said work was under way to remove barriers to trade and increase investment flows.

At a joint press conference, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Turkiye would continue to support cooperation with Pakistan on regional and international matters, noting the importance of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides for peace and prosperity.
PM Shehbaz meets Recep Tayyip Erdogan on trade and strategic ties
Subsequently, PM Shehbaz held talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul on a range of matters of mutual interest, including trade, investment, defence and energy.
Both sides agreed to strengthen the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Turkiye, with emphasis on raising bilateral trade to five billion US dollars.
The prime minister said the resolution of disputes through diplomacy and dialogue remained the most effective path, and expressed appreciation for the warm reception extended by the Turkish side.
He noted that fraternal relations between the two countries would continue to move to higher levels, referring to his participation in the Pakistan-Turkiye business conference and meetings with Turkish business leaders, and said the spirit of innovation and seriousness on the Turkish side reinforced his confidence in the growth of economic partnership.
He added that economic relations between the two countries were entering a new phase of cooperation.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised Pakistan’s efforts in mediation between Iran and the United States.
The prime minister thanked Turkiye for its support for peace efforts, and both sides stressed the importance of continued close diplomatic contact during the peace process, underlining the need for durable and lasting peace in the region.
The prime minister extended a formal invitation to the Turkish President to visit Pakistan.
