Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday that Pakistan has secured a mediatory role due to the sincere support of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, underscoring the depth of historic ties between Pakistan and Turkiye.
He said Istanbul is a city that connects Asia and Europe, adding that Turkiye is regarded as a strong and loyal ally of Pakistan. He stated that the relations between the two countries are rooted in a long history of cooperation and mutual support dating back to the Turkish War of Independence.

PM Shehbaz said Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in the negotiations between the United States and Iran were carried out with sincere intent and resulted in a ceasefire, calling for the opportunity to be used to strengthen peace and regional cooperation.
Pakistan to learn from Turkiye’s industrial transformation: PM
He said that Turkiye had undergone major industrial transformation under President Erdoğan, adding that Islamabad looked forward to learning from Turkiye’s experience in energy, privatisation, transport systems, distribution networks, and renewable energy investment.
The premier said that relations between the two countries were not only political but deeply fraternal, and said work was under way to remove barriers to trade and increase investment flows.
