Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reached Turkiye on an official visit after attending funeral prayers in Iran.
PM Shehbaz earlier took part in a condolence ceremony held for Iran’s late Supreme Leader. He was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Information Minister Atta Tarar, and Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also remained with the prime minister during the engagements.
PM Shehbaz pays homage to Iran's late supreme leader
The prime minister paid tribute to the late Iranian leader for services rendered to Islam. He expressed solidarity with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian.
He offered prayers for the elevation of the deceased leader’s ranks and forgiveness.
A parliamentary delegation, led by Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani and National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, also attended the events. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and other parliamentarians were also present.
