FC Bayern Munich, the German Bundesliga champions, have signed Moroccan forward Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven.
The club did not disclose the transfer fee, though reports placed the deal at around 55 million euros (63 million US dollars). Bayern Munich confirmed in a statement that Saibari, 25, has signed a contract after joining from PSV Eindhoven.
The player is currently representing Morocco national football team at the FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
He is due to join Bayern after the conclusion of the tournament.
Saibari joined PSV Eindhoven in 2020 from K.R.C. Genk and has made 142 appearances in all competitions, scoring 42 goals.
His most productive season came last term, when he scored 15 goals in 27 league matches, helping PSV secure a third successive Dutch league title.
Saibari said that joining Bayern Munich had been a childhood ambition, describing the club as one of the biggest in world football.
He added that Bayern compete annually for major honours, including the Champions League, and he aims to win as many trophies as possible.
At the World Cup, he scored in Morocco’s wins over Scotland and Haiti, and converted the decisive penalty in a shootout win over the Netherlands in the last 32.
