Norway have secured a place in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 16 after defeating Ivory Coast 2-1 in a tense Round of 32 encounter.
Norway produced a stronger display in the first half, taking the lead in the 39th minute when Antonio Nusa found the net with a well-taken goal.
Ivory Coast responded after the break and levelled the match in the 74th minute through Amad Diallo, who finished a fine individual effort.

With the match seemingly heading towards extra time, Norway struck again in the 86th minute. Erling Haaland scored the decisive goal to restore his side’s lead at 2-1.
The result confirmed Norway’s progression to the last 16, where they will face Brazil. Ivory Coast were eliminated from the tournament.
