The Pakistan International Airlines' (PIA) ownership has officially been transferred to new owners.
According to the PIA spokesperson, the PIA Equity Limited, a subsidiary special purpose vehicle of the Arif Habib Consortium, took charge of the airline’s management today.
The PIA Equity Limited chairman said that ownership had changed, but the commitment to serving Pakistan was stronger than ever. He said the airline’s rich heritage would be respected while efforts would be made to turn PIA into a modern airline meeting global standards.

PIA begins new phase after Rs125bn equity injection
The new management said PIA had entered a new phase of modernisation after a Rs125 billion equity injection, with plans to improve service standards and preserve the airline’s legacy.
The PIA Equity Limited chairman said the trust of the nation was not merely transferred through documents but had to be earned through consistent service.
