The FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage is nearing its conclusion, with the Round of 32 lineup gradually taking shape.
While several football giants have already secured knockout-stage berths, many teams are still fighting for automatic qualification or one of the tournament's eight best third-place spots.
The top two teams from each of the 12 groups automatically qualify for the Round of 32. They are joined by the tournament's eight best third-place finishers, making every final group-stage match crucial.

Group A
Qualified: Mexico, South Africa
Eliminated: Czechia
Mexico finished first with a perfect nine points and will return to Mexico City Stadium to face one of the best third-place teams from Groups C, E, F, H or I.
South Africa advanced as runners-up, while Czechia exited the tournament.
Group B
Qualified: Switzerland, Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Eliminated: Qatar
Switzerland secured first place with a 2-0 victory over Canada.

Qualified: Brazil, Morocco
Eliminated: Haiti
Brazil claimed top spot after defeating Scotland and will face the Group F runners-up in Houston.
Morocco advanced on goal difference as runners-up. Scotland remains in contention but must wait to see if it qualifies among the tournament's best third-place teams.
