The Punjab government has made the green property certificate compulsory for all land and property transactions across the province from July 1.
Property certificates to curb fraud in Punjab land records
The certificate will ensure verification of ownership and possession of property. Punjab Land Records Authority Chairman Tariq Subhani said the certificate would help end fraud and forgery in property transactions.
He said historic reforms had been introduced in Punjab’s 486-year-old land record system.
The fee for obtaining the green property certificate has been fixed at Rs950. The certificate can be obtained from the nearest land record centre, Tariq Subhani said.
