The State Bank of Pakistan has announced that banks and financial institutions across the country will remain closed on Wednesday, July 1, due to a bank holiday.
According to the SBP, all banks will remain closed for public transactions on July 1, while bank employees will attend offices as usual.
The State Bank said public dealings in the banking system will remain suspended during the holiday.
Development financial institutions and microfinance banks will also remain closed for public transactions on the same day.
Employees to attend offices
The SBP clarified that although public transactions will not take place, bank employees will be present in their offices as usual.
The announcement applies to banks, development financial institutions and microfinance banks across Pakistan.
