The Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has suspended the interim registration decision related to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), halting the Azad Kashmir High Court’s June 23 order.
The high court had directed the Election Commission to register the PTI as a political party.
The Azad Kashmir Supreme Court suspended the decision issued by the High Court on June 23 regarding PTI’s interim registration.
The development comes after the High Court ordered the Election Commission to register PTI as a political party in Azad Kashmir.
Full bench constituted for hearing
A full bench of the Supreme Court has been constituted to hear the case. The bench will be headed by Chief Justice Azad Kashmir Justice Saeed Akram Raja.
Hearing fixed for July 2
The Supreme Court will take up the PTI interim registration case on July 2 in Muzaffarabad.
The hearing is expected to determine the next legal course in the matter concerning PTI’s registration as a political party in Azad Kashmir.
