The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) says investigations are continuing into an alleged human organ smuggling network uncovered in Islamabad, with authorities conducting raids to arrest more suspects.
Speaking during an informal media interaction, FIA Director Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari said five suspects have been arrested so far and that the case will be pursued to its logical conclusion.
According to Bukhari, investigators believe the case involves a well-organised network operating on a large scale. He said the alleged network consisted of staff from small hospitals, agents and foreign nationals who worked together in the operation.
Human placenta used in cosmetic products
The FIA director said the investigation found that collagen shots and skin pills were allegedly manufactured using human placenta. He further alleged that the suspects packaged human organs before smuggling them to Vietnam.

Bukhari said investigators collected all available evidence during raids at two locations in Islamabad. He added that the FIA has also carried out successful raids in Lahore, Peshawar and Rawalpindi as part of the ongoing investigation.
More arrests expected
The FIA director said raids are continuing to arrest additional suspects linked to the alleged smuggling network.
He confirmed that five accused have been taken into custody so far, adding that no doctor is among those arrested at this stage.
FIA vows to expose entire network
Bukhari said the agency is determined to expose all major rackets connected to the case. He described the matter as more than a corruption case, saying it also involves the violation of human dignity and sanctity.
The FIA reiterated that the investigation remains underway and that authorities will continue operations until all those allegedly involved are brought to justice.
