Ireland secured their first-ever victory over India in international cricket with a 34-run win in the opening T20 International at Belfast, taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
After losing four wickets inside the powerplay, Ireland recovered to post 182 for 9 from 20 overs. Captain Lorcan Tucker struck 50 from 36 balls, while Gareth Delany made 49 and George Dockrell added a rapid 19 from 10 deliveries.

Harshit Rana returned figures of 3 for 24 for India, while Arshdeep Singh claimed 2 for 28 and Axar Patel took 2 for 33.
India's reply began briskly through Abhishek Sharma, who scored 49 from 20 balls, but regular wickets halted the chase. The visitors were dismissed for 148 in 18.5 overs.
Matt Hollard and Matthew Humphreys claimed three wickets each, while Jai Moondra took two wickets on his international debut. Gareth Delany also claimed one wicket.
The victory was Ireland's first over India after eight previous defeats in international cricket and gave the hosts a 1-0 lead in the two-match T20I series.
