Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has thanked the PML-N, IPP, MWM and PTI for supporting the PPP in Gilgit-Baltistan, saying the party will work with all stakeholders to solve the problems of the region’s people.
Speaking to the media at Parliament House in Islamabad, Bilawal said the PML-N accepted the PPP’s mandate in Gilgit-Baltistan and voted for the party’s chief minister and speaker.
Bilawal first thanked the people of Gilgit-Baltistan for supporting the PPP. He said the party had received a mandate from the people and expressed gratitude to the PML-N for recognizing that mandate.
According to Bilawal, the PML-N voted for the PPP’s chief minister and speaker in Gilgit-Baltistan.
PML-N to sit in opposition in GB
The PPP chairman said the PML-N will sit in the opposition in Gilgit-Baltistan. He added that the deputy speaker in the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly will be from the PML-N.
Bilawal also thanked the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party for supporting the PPP in government formation. He further expressed gratitude to Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and PTI for their cooperation in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Bilawal said the PPP would work with others to resolve the issues facing the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. He said cooperation among political parties would help ensure better governance and stability in the region.
The PPP chairman said the goal was to serve the people and move forward collectively.
Bilawal hopes Iran-US peace efforts succeed
Speaking on regional developments, Bilawal said he wanted the efforts of the prime minister and the field marshal for the Iran-US peace agreement to succeed. He said Pakistanis were facing an economic burden due to the US-Iran war, and peace would help reduce that pressure.
According to Bilawal, Pakistan-Iran relations were good before the war and would become even stronger after tensions ease.
He said the Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project was initiated by President Asif Ali Zardari. He added that once the regional situation improves, the gas pipeline project with Iran should be completed first.

The PPP chairman said improved Pakistan-Iran ties would open the way for progress on key bilateral projects.
Remarks on PML-N and political conduct
Referring to the PML-N, Bilawal said he had not personally described the party as one that “stands in difficulty and embraces in ease.” He clarified that this remark had been made by Pir Pagara regarding the PML-N.
Bilawal’s remarks came as he discussed political cooperation and changing alignments in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Concern over Azad Kashmir situation
Bilawal said the situation in Kashmir had deteriorated and added that he did not want to see such a day in Azad Kashmir. He said the policy of Pakistan government and the state on Kashmir was clear.
The PPP chairman said the issues of the people and protesting groups were before everyone and should be addressed through political means.
Bilawal said the PPP had never talked about postponing elections in Azad Kashmir. He said some people had wanted the elections to be postponed, first “tomorrow” and then “today.”
The PPP chairman said his party had won elections in Gilgit-Baltistan and questioned why he would want elections delayed in Azad Kashmir. He added that the PPP was in a strong position to win elections in Azad Kashmir as well.
Calls for conducive political environment
Bilawal said the election schedule for Azad Kashmir had been announced ahead of time. He stressed that the political environment in Azad Kashmir should be made conducive so that elections can be held smoothly.
The PPP chairman said all political issues should be resolved politically rather than through confrontation.
Bilawal speaks on Kulbhushan Jadhav
Bilawal also referred to Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, saying he had come to Pakistan for terrorism. He said Jadhav did not come to Pakistan for harmless purposes, adding that his intentions were clear to everyone.
The PPP chairman said Jadhav had also come to Balochistan to support separatist organizations.
He also alleged that the India-Israel nexus harms Pakistan and must be exposed. He said Balochistan is an easy target for what he described as Indian and Israeli conspiracies.
According to Bilawal, terrorist organizations in Balochistan supported the Israeli attack on Iran. He said Pakistan was not merely claiming the existence of an India-Israel nexus, but that such forces were admitting it through their own actions.
‘Nexus failed in Iran, will fail in Pakistan’
Bilawal said the same India-Israel nexus that operated in Iran was also being attempted in Pakistan. He maintained that the nexus had failed in Iran and would fail in Pakistan as well.
The PPP chairman said Pakistan must remain alert to these threats while continuing to pursue political stability and regional peace.
